As a very close friend to the actual victim, the dead man’s former wife, in the article headlined, “6-hour standoff ends in man’s suicide,” I am absolutely amazed at the utter lack of concern and blatant disregard for privacy and sensitivity. What in the world could you possibly be thinking when you determined that in the interest of being factual a need to publish the exact address of where this woman and her children reside and will continue to reside was necessary.

Have you absolutely lost your mind, lost touch with reality, human element and common decency or are you just stupid and or clueless.

I acknowledge the need to inform your readers of the proximity in which this crime occurred but it was not necessary to identify the exact street location. This woman had her face pummeled and a violent attempt on her life, despondent or not there was no justification for this act as there was no justification for your absolute disregard for what it may add to an already overwhelming and difficult situation. She and especially her children deserve better than a ludicrous reporting of facts that could cause an already traumatic event to become that much more crazy to deal with. This is nothing short of asinine.

I would hope that in the future at least one right mind over there might give the prevailing attitude that you can report the facts, stopping short of gratuitous that will or could possible multiply the hardship that those involved have in front of them.

Next time read the article, edit the article as you are paid to do and do it while considering yourself as one of the victims and then maybe you’ll come up with something acceptable. This is unacceptable.
