Morgan Hill Unified School District is looking for volunteer readers to participate in the Third Annual Read Across America Read-In scheduled throughout the school day Wednesday, March 2.
The annual event is a celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
Volunteers can choose the school and grade level (preschool through third grade) they would like to visit and MHUSD will supply them with a book that will be read—in either English or Spanish—to the class.
The book list includes: “Red-A Crayon’s Story” for preschool/transitional kindergarten classes; “The Day The Crayons Came Home” for kindergartners; “What Do You Do With An Idea?” for first graders; “Rosie Revere, Engineer” for second graders; and “Ada Byron Lovelace and the Thinking Machine” for third graders.
Bilingual book titles to be read in Spanish to Dual Immersion Education classes are: “A Treasury of Curious George” for preschool/TK/kinder classes; “Abuelita Full of Life” for first graders; “The Dog Who Loves Torillas/La perrita que le encantaban las tortillas” for second graders; and “Tito Puente” for third graders.
