Virginia Helen Hansen, 61, of Morgan Hill, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Virginia (Ginny) grew up in the Lansing area where she met and married Bryce Hansen in 1961. They lived in many Michigan cities (Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Elk Rapids and Holland) before moving to San Jose in 1980.
Ginny loved her family. She was a wonderful mother and she raised her children with great love and compassion. She was always there to catch you when you fell, encouraging your dreams, inspiring your happiness and holding your hand, helping you through it all. She enjoyed traveling to visit family and always felt at home whenever she was. Her best times were when her children and grandchildren were by her side.
After her diagnosis with breast cancer in 1999 she had a “can-do” spirit and wasn’t going to let it beat her. Through it all she was always willing to help anyone in need.
Ginny was one of the founding owners of CCS (Corporate & Commercial Services) in San Jose for 12 years before successfully selling the business. She continued a leadership role in the firm until December of last year.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Bill Friedmann; son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Ellen Hansen; son and daughter-in-law Russell and Monica Hansen; granddaughters Ashley Friedmann, Kayla Hansen, Jillian VanVonderen; grandsons, Nick Friedmann, Bryce Hansen, Jacob Hansen, Matthew Friedmann and wife Julie Friedmann, Griffin VanVonderen, Angel Gonzalez; great-grandson Austin Friedmann; mother, Luella Wahl; brother, and sister-in-law Bill and Mary Wahl.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bryce Hansen, and father George Wahl.
Services will be held at a later date, in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Hospice of the Valley or the Breast Cancer Foundation.
