Fans of baseball history will get a thrill when the Bay Area
Vintage Baseball League begins its inaugural season at Community
Park in Morgan Hill on Sunday. The Morgan Hill-based South County
Jaspers will host the league
’s other team, the San Jose Dukes, at 9am. The two teams will
play five innings in MH, and then travel to Santa Clara
University’s new Stephen Schott Stadium to play the remainder of
the game as part of the university’s Community Day celebration.
Fans of baseball history will get a thrill when the Bay Area Vintage Baseball League begins its inaugural season at Community Park in Morgan Hill on Sunday. The Morgan Hill-based South County Jaspers will host the league’s other team, the San Jose Dukes, at 9am. The two teams will play five innings in MH, and then travel to Santa Clara University’s new Stephen Schott Stadium to play the remainder of the game as part of the university’s Community Day celebration.

The BAVBB is dedicated to preserving old-time baseball, and players use reproduction equipment including baseballs, bats, gloves, and uniforms. Teams are scheduled to play every other Sunday and the season runs through September. The league is currently looking for more players.
