Morgan Hill – A 16-year-old boy who was driving without a license was flown by helicopter from the scene of an accident the evening of Oct. 28 to a San Jose hospital for treatment of facial lacerations and possible fractures.

Police did not charge the teen at the time of the accident but Morgan Hill Police Sgt. David Swing said charges could be filed pending the outcome of the investigation.

The accident happened at approximately 7:45pm, Swing said, at the intersection of Sunnyside and Sycamore avenues in southwest Morgan Hill.

Another 16-year-old driver in a Suburban collided with the injured driver, who was in a Toyota Camry, Swing said.

“It looks like one guy was making a left turn in front of the other driver, and they collided,” he said. “Both vehicles had front end damage. It is unknown at this time if speed was a factor.”

There was no indication that the driver of the Suburban was impaired by alcohol or drugs, but it is not yet known if the other teen had been drinking or taking drugs.

Swing said the teen who was injured was released from the hospital on Sunday.
