Niemi blanks Dallas; Sharks move into eighth place
Joe Pavelski scored two goals and Antii Niemi made 22 saves as San Jose leapt over the Stars (89 points) into eighth place in the conference with 90 points. Los Angeles, an overtime loser to Minnesota, and Phoenix, a 4-0 winner over Anaheim, remain ahead of the Sharks with 91 points apiece. Each of the four teams in the Pacific Division bidding for the three playoff spots has three games left in the regular season.
Rain doesn’t hinder march for Sierra
A morning full of rain didn’t keep a sizable crowd from marching Saturday through downtown Morgan Hill to show support and raise awareness for missing 15-year-old Sierra LaMar.

If one would walk into the B109 classroom at Ann Sobrato High School about 9 a.m. any given Monday through Friday, one would see the typical classroom: a teacher pacing back and forth in lecture-mode, asking her students questions, her students taking notes and listening attentively.
