The crime was reported 2:14pm Aug. 26.A male suspect stole tools from O’Reilly Auto Parts, 16060 Monterey Road. The crime was reported 3:31pm Aug. 26.A female suspect stole 10 football jerseys from Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1011 Cochrane Road. The woman left the parking lot in a black Lexus sedan. The crime was reported 7:09pm Sept. 8.BurglaryA burglar or burglars broke into a home on West Main Avenue and stole $1,000. The suspect or suspects gained entry to the home through a rear sliding door that was unlocked. The crime was reported 1:48pm Aug. 27.Auto burglarySomeone broke the passenger window of a Ford Expedition on Monterey Road and stole a wallet. The crime was reported 4:57pm Aug. 23.A thief or thieves broke into a black Mercedes and stole a laptop computer. The vehicle was parked on Purissima Way when the crime was committed. The crime was reported 9am Aug. 24.Someone broke into a Ford Fusion parked on Heritage Court and rummaged through the vehicle. The burglary was reported 8:19am Aug. 31.A thief or thieves broke into a Honda Accord and stole tools from the vehicle. The crime was reported 8:54am Aug. 31 on Jarvis Drive.Someone broke the rear driver’s side window of an Infiniti QX60 that was parked on Condit Road. The crime was reported 10:34am Aug. 31.A suspect or suspects broke the rear driver’s side window to gain entry to a black Nissan Pathfinder, which was parked on Condit Road. Stolen from the vehicle was a purse and a Social Security card. The crime was reported 8:43pm Aug. 29.Someone broke into a Lincoln parked on West Dunne Avenue and stole a purse with identification cards, plane tickets and cash. The crime was reported 2:37pm Aug. 27. Hit and runA silver Mercedes van rear-ended a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Condit Road and East Dunne Avenue. The driver of the Mercedes allegedly refused to exchange information with the Toyota driver. The Toyota suffered damage to the rear of the vehicle. The incident was reported 1:50pm Aug. 28.Petty theftA male suspect walked out of Safeway, 235 Tennant Station, carrying two cases of Modelo beer for which he did not pay. The suspect left the area in a GMC truck. Police caught up with the suspect and arrested him in front of Jack In The Box on Monterey Road. The crime was reported 3:15pm Aug. 28.Someone stole two vacuums worth about $1,000 from Target, 1061 Cochrane Road. The crime was reported 7:14pm Aug. 28.Two women in their 20s stole earrings and other jewelry from the Morgan Hill Car Wash and Gift Shop, 16225 Monterey Road. The crime was reported 2:58pm Sept. 11.A suspect stole some video game controllers and a sweater—together worth about $250—from Target, 1061 Cochrane Road. Police arrested the male suspect. The crime was reported 4:30pm Sept. 10.Person downA woman arrived to her home on Del Monte Avenue to find a man she did not know lying face down on her porch. EMS responded and transported the man to a nearby hospital. The incident was reported 7:03pm Sept. 7.VandalismA suspect or suspects smashed out all the windows on a white Mercedes on Condit Road. The crime was reported 8:50am Sept. 8.AccidentA truck with a trailer hit six vehicles in the area of Monterey and Watsonville roads. No injuries were reported. Authorities shut the northbound lane of Monterey Road while the accident was cleared from the roadway. The accident was reported 5:55am Sept. 12.FraudA victim purchased a cargo trailer by responding to an ad on craigslist, and sent $1,200 worth of eBay gift cards at the seller’s request. The victim never heard back from the seller and did not receive the trailer. The crime was reported 5:23pm Sept. 10.All subjects are innocent until proven guilty. Goats gathered on people for an original yoga experience on Saturday, Sept. 8 in San Martin.That’s right. Plans for a new Catholic high school for southern Santa Clara County, first proposed 14 years ago, gained new life on Sept. 5, when the Morgan Hill City Council revisited a plan to annex the proposed school site southeast of the city.

UPDATED: Three arrested in relation to Friday night stabbing

Morgan Hill Police arrested three young men who stabbed a 16-year-old boy in the area of Tennant Avenue and Church Street Friday night, according to authorities.About 10:40pm Sept. 7, officers were dispatched to the area of the south Morgan Hill intersection to investigate a report of a person stabbed, reads a Sept. 10 press release from Morgan Hill Police Department. Officers arrived to the area but did not locate a victim or witnesses.Several minutes later, Morgan Hill Police communications received a phone call from a local hospital, advising that a 16-year-old stabbing victim had been dropped off and was receiving medical attention, police said. Officers learned the victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his back and was in critical condition.Through the investigation, officers developed information leading them to a suspect and vehicle description, police said. About 7:16pm Sept. 8, an officer on patrol recognized the suspect’s vehicle and conducted an enforcement stop.The 17-year-old male driver of the vehicle was identified as being involved in the previous night’s altercation and stabbing, according to police.The continuing investigation also led to the identity of another involved subject, Roman Yerkovich, 19, of Morgan Hill, according to authorities. Yerkovich later turned himself in at the Morgan Hill Police Department.Police then identified yet a third suspect, Luis Pineda, 19, of Morgan Hill. Officers arrested Pineda at his home the afternoon of Sept. 10, the police department announced in a follow-up press release.Yerkovich was booked at Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide and conspiracy, police said. The male juvenile suspect was booked at Juvenile Hall, also on suspicion of attempted homicide and conspiracy. Police are not releasing the 17-year-old suspect’s name because he is a juvenile.The victim remained in the hospital in serious condition as of Sept. 10, according to police.Anyone with information about the stabbing can call MHPD Detective Fernando Del Moral at (408) 779-2101.

Saint Louise owner seeks Chap. 11 protection

The owners of Saint Louise Regional Hospital today filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 to “reorganize and facilitate an orderly and efficient sale process.”
