A Gilroy man turned himself in to police after he allegedly stabbed a Morgan Hill man causing life-threatening injuries.

Every newborn at Saint Louise Regional Hospital, located at 9400 No Name Uno in Gilroy, is now receiving a life-saving test that only a few U.S. hospitals are currently offering, according to a press release sent out by hospital spokeswoman Jasmine Nguyen.

“Dear Red Phone, I went to the Gilroy Memorial Day Parade and after going I think Gilroy should take lessons from the City of Morgan Hill on throwing a parade. Obviously Gilroy needs some lessons on Parade 101. Shame on Gilroy, yay for Morgan Hill.”

Sitting horseback in an open, neatly mowed field that spans 300-yards long and 160-yards wide, eight people, each holding a long mallet, wait patiently for a man dressed in a black and white striped shirt to toss a white plastic ball onto the grass.

The family of Tara Romero, the 14-year-old Morgan Hill girl who was mistakenly targeted in a drive-by gang shooting last year, is “ecstatic” that city staff and members of the community are supportive of a public art project memorializing the fallen teen.

Five days after police found 22-year-old Joshua Valdez lying unconscious late at night in the middle of a busy Morgan Hill intersection, the comatose local resident’s friends are “relieved” that a suspect was arrested in relation to the hit-and-run that apparently caused his injuries.
