Barn owl returning to the wild
The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center will be releasing a Barn Owl at the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 6:30 PM.  The barn owl was the sole survivor of 3 downy nestlings that had fallen from their tree nest in Morgan Hill in June.  WERC’s educational (non-releasable) barn owl, Barnadette, will be making a personal appearance at the event. The plea hearing for the man who allegedly charmed multiple South County seniors into giving him money for landscaping services he never completed was continued to Nov. 1, due the public defender declaring a conflict in the case.

CROSS COUNTRY: LO sweeps lates league meet
The Live Oak boys and girls varsity cross country teams both beat league opponents Del Mar and San Jose in the heat Wednesday. Overall times were slowed a bit by the conditions, however, the boys improved to 4-1 and the girls 5-0.
WATER POLO: Rally falls short against Willow Glen
Despite falling to 2-7 on the year, the Live Oak boys water polo team was happy with its play Wednesday in a 10-7 loss to Willow Glen. Â
