The Sobrato girls soccer team improved to 2-0 on Wednesday with a 10-0 win over Anzar High in San Juan Bautista. The Hawks now fall to 0-4.
Gilroy, Christopher move to Pacific in football
The football teams at Gilroy and Christopher high schools will move from the Gabilan Division to the lower Pacific Division within the Monterey Bay League next season, the MBL announced Wednesday.
City, contractor continue to evaluate Third Street damages
City staff and the contractor who built the Third Street Promenade project in 2009 are in discussions to determine the cause of numerous damages to the project since its completion. Staff will also come up with options to make repairs, and maybe improvements that will prevent the need for future repairs.

Cosmo is a 6-year-old cat who has been declawed, so he is an indoor only cat. He is loving, gentle and good with other cats. Pets need homes this holiday
More than 1,200 Silicon Valley animals need a home for the holidays. Silicon Valley animal shelters are launching “Shelters First” (www.sheltersfirst.org), an awareness campaign that targets the 67% of Santa Clara county households that love pets – encouraging everyone to find their next pet at a shelter. (That’s over 400,000 families!) Currently, only 25% of pet owners adopt from shelters.
ROUNDUP: Freshman scores 17 as Live Oak girls beat Monterey
Freshman guard Fayth Lyon scored 17 points to lead Live Oak’s girls basketball team to a 52-22 home win over Monterey on Tuesday night.
