Third Street Promenade’s ‘sparkling’ defects
Morgan Hill’s Third Street Promenade, built in 2009 as a focal point and entertainment center for downtown visitors, will continue to sink, rattle and crack until three parties involved in its construction come to terms on who is responsible for repairing the flaws that are causing the chronic damages.
$3.4 million in ambulance service fines
Santa Clara County’s Emergency Medical Services ambulance provider, Rural/Metro, has been fined more than $3.4 million by the County dating back to January 2012 for failing to meet the guidelines laid out in its contract since gaining exclusive county ambulance service rights in 2011.
Butterfield delayed again
In an effort to head off any potential dispute over the Butterfield Boulevard extension, which is mired in delays and could cost the City or contractor more than anticipated when the project is finally finished, the Morgan Hill City Council this week was scheduled to hire a consultant who specializes in “construction management and schedule evaluation.”
