The Morgan Hill Assault made their 12U debut over Sept. 7 and 8, bringing home the USSSA Patriot Classic Championship with a come-from-behind win over the Alameda Attack. After falling behind 4-0 in early innings, the Assault rallied to a 7-5 final behind the pitching of starter Gio Saso, reliever Michael Barone and closer Will Waxman backed by a solid Assault defense and particularly the spectacular play of shortstop Vinnie Lagatta.
