Area wineries have been told to put a cork in the noise when it comes to entertaining guests, unless proprietors pony up close to $5,000 for a one-time special outdoor amplified sound permit and associated noise consultancy fees.

DEAR ABBY: I'm the proud mother of four beautiful children -- a daughter, a son and 8-year-old twin boys. I am having a hard time getting people to understand that my boys, whom I rarely refer to as "twins," are two SEPARATE people! Every year at Christmas some family members buy gifts for our daughter and our eldest son, and then ONE gift our younger boys are expected to share. Abby, they once received one T-shirt, which was meant for both of them. This also happens on their birthday.

WEDDING: Perez/Schwab: Perez/Schwab Alma Cecilia Perez and James Michael Schwab were married Nov. 16, 2013 in San Jose. Alma, daughter of Carlos and Yolanda Perez of Morgan Hill, graduated from UC Berkeley, and is a consultant to the State Senate Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations. James, son of Margaret Schwab of Davis, graduated from UC Davis, and is a legislative consultant to State Senator Alex Padilla.

DEAR ABBY: I have been with my fiance since 2006. We expected to be married in 2008, but my grandmother died a month before my wedding, and then he was arrested because of charges stemming from a sexual relationship he'd had with a 17-year-old girl he had been counseling.

A parent information meeting for anyone interested in learning more about the Charter School will be held at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28, 2014 at 9530 Monterey Road, multipurpose room, Morgan Hill.
