Police Give Gifts to Needy

Christmas came early for the Martinez family of Morgan Hill Friday as Morgan Hill Police Officers Association distributed gifts donated by officers to the family of six. Carlos and Alejandra thanked officers for their donation, saying that though they work full-time, it's just not enough. Their four children, Michelle, 7, Carla, 6, Bryan, 4, and Carlos, Jr., 8 months, were starry-eyed as officers came through the door of their apartment laden with gifts. Officers Mindy Zen, Ray Ramos and Mike Nelsen played Santa and also delivered a certificate for a Christmas dinner from Nob Hill grocery store, a $50 gift certificate from Friendly Fred's restaurant and a $50 donation from Don Kenzey, who was a customer in the restaurant when officers were collecting.
