I blame Brian Sabean for what will be the Giants’ failure to not make the playoffs this year. They needed to get a pitcher before the trade deadline, but they didn’t.

Instead they traded one of their only decent relievers for Ricky Ledee, whose not that good from what I hear. So I’m pretty upset about that.

This caller must be part of what Sabean likes to call “the lunatic fringe” (you know, those unreasonable Giant fans who don’t agree with every single move made by their almighty GM).

The Green Phone thinks we can all agree … if there’s one area where the Giants could afford to subtract instead of add, it was the bullpen.

And we shouldn’t blame Sabean for making the season-altering move for the powerful Ledee, either. He’s only changed teams five times in the last six years. Everybody wants this guy.

So take that, you lunatic.

Caller 2:

I was looking through a catalog the other day with NFL merchandise and it had the best players of different teams on jerseys you could buy.

And I happened to notice the 49ers’ top jersey is Kevan Barlow.

That’s when I realized this is going to be a long season.

Wait, Barlow is the Niners’ best player? Isn’t this probably going to hurt Julian Peterson’s “I’m so valuable I want Peyton Manning-like money” holdout?

Oh I’m sorry, we have another call. Bu-bye …

Caller 4:

I can’t believe the Raiders released Tim Brown, their greatest receiver of all-time. Where’s the loyalty there? Jerry Rice is just as old as him and they keep Rice and release Brown? I just think that’s ridiculous.

I don’t know where the loyalty is with these teams anymore.

I just think that was a very bad move for the Raiders.

Loyalty? We’re talking about Al Davis here.

The man once traded his mother for cash and a relative to be named later.
