MORGAN HILL — Sobrato continued to strengthen its run to a league Thursday against Oak Grove.

Sobrato’s Nos. 2 and 3 doubles teams won marathon matches, and Ali Pecsok and Emerald Nguyen shined in singles play as the Lady Bulldogs moved to 5-1 in Santa Teresa Division play with a 5-2 victory at Sobrato High School.

The Bulldogs’ strong singles ladder came through again. Pecsok beat Eileen Doan 6-1, 6-1, and Nguyen defeated Lilian Le 6-0, 6-2. Sobrato also reaped a forfeit win for Alexa Watanabe in the top singles spot.

But the big story was the Bulldogs’ doubles. The Eagles took the No. 1 match, but Sobrato’s Alyssa Warren and Allison Bettencourt countered with an enduring triumph, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8, over Kim Le and Ida Tran to clinch the team win. Nemerta Cherra and Amanda Alipaz went the distance as well for the Bulldogs, beating Thao Do and Sophia Huynh 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 (8-6).
