Cajun food coming soon to Morgan Hill

Red Phone, I read the story about moving the Times office from
Third Street and just wanted to say what a bummer. You guys put up
with the reconstruction of the street then had to move. It’s been
nearly a year, and I think the street looks great. I hope all those
people who complained about it have had a chance to go down there.
It’s literally crawling with people. Someday when it’s completely
developed, people will say what foresight the city had in
rebuilding that street.

Red Phone: Dear It Looks Great, Red Phone could not agree more. Sure, the move was a bummer, but we’re in a great new location just a few blocks north.

And you are right about the area. While working on Third Street, Red Phone saw families showing their children the fountain, couples sitting on the benches or relaxing on the lawn and people walking back and forth between Rosy’s at the Beach and Huntington Station.

It should be known that the Promenade was not just built for today, but for years from now when the economy turns around and developers again begin spending money. Finally, the Promenade was not meant solely as a destination, though it will be for the Farmer’s Market and other events planned for the area, but it is an egress into the downtown area, and a nice one at that, at least in Red Phone’s opinion.

Anyway, good caller, hope that answers your question.

Shooting pellet gun in city is illegal

“Red Phone, a neighbor has given his son a pellet gun, and said son is now knocking off birds in the area. This is near houses, and within the city limits. Is this legal?”

Red Phone: Dear Is This Legal, Red Phone contacted Cpl. Rod Krewson with the Morgan Hill Police Department, who said discharging a pellet gun in the city limits is against the law. However, if the boy in question lives in the unincorporated area of the city, then any violations would fall under the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s jurisdiction. As far as killing birds, that is against the law and you can call Animal Control officer Daniel Pina at 779-2101.
