Dear Editor,

Sobrato High School and Britton Middle School wish to thank Safeway, Nob Hill Foods and Albertson’s for their generous contributions through their electronic scrip funding programs. During the last several years they have donated thousands of dollars to schools in Morgan Hill.

The parents and teachers at Sobrato and Britton feel it is important to recognize the positive impact the contributions have had on the schools and on the community. Thanks to Safeway, Nob Hill and Albertson’s they have been able to help provide agendas for every student to keep homework assignments listed, purchase updated computers and scientific calculators, as well as provide funding for many other areas often cut short in lean times.

In this age of shrinking budgets, community participation and outside sources of funding are a necessity for all schools. Our hometown grocery stores allow our children to continue to learn and thrive in a curriculum that includes technology, literature, and organizational skills. Without their participation these programs would be drastically reduced and far fewer children would be able to participate.

If you shop at Safeway, Nob Hill Foods or Albertson’s and would like to participate in this free program to support Sobrato High School or Britton Middle School please contact Cindy Thomas at (408) 779-3876 or stop by the Sobrato or Britton school office to fill out a form. You do not need to have children attending these schools to participate.
