| The City of Morgan Hill sent out the following notice of the Tennant Avenue Sewer Main project work schedule and traffic impacts: The City’s Tennant Avenue Sewer Main Project is currently underway. This critical infrastructure project is needed to ensure the City’s Sewer System is proactively maintained and that an aging sewer line is replaced and upgraded before failure. This proactive work helps to ensure system reliability and supports public safety and protection of the environment. This project includes the removal of the existing sewer pipe and installation of a new 27-inch sewer pipe, auger bore under the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, temporary sewer bypass system, new manholes and/or manhole modifications, manhole coating, lateral reconnections, traffic control, project clean up and video for quality control. This project will be ongoing for approximately 6 months. This project will include work along Tennant Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Monterey Road. Work will typically occur between 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday. The following updates cover major work occurring in the next few days. Intersection of Church Street and Tennant AvenueWork is scheduled for Friday, October 4, 2019 On Friday, October 4, 2019, KJ Woods Construction will be working at the intersection of Church Street and Tennant Avenue. During this work, both lanes of Eastbound Tennant Avenue will be open. Westbound Tennant Avenue will be reduced to one lane and southbound Church Street will be right turn only on Tennant Avenue. Exiting Tennant Station at Church Street will be a Right turn only. The construction hours will be during the day from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Lane closures will occur with traffic control devices. Intersection of Vineyard Boulevard and Tennant AvenueWork is scheduled for Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th On Monday, October 7, 2019 and Tuesday, October 8, 2019, KJ Woods Construction will be working at the intersection of Vineyard Boulevard and Tennant Avenue. During this work, both lanes of Eastbound Tennant Avenue will be open. Westbound Tennant Avenue will be reduced to one lane and southbound Vineyard Boulevard will be right turn only on Tennant Avenue. Northbound Vineyard Boulevard will be a Right turn only. The construction hours will be during the day from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Lane closures will occur with traffic control devices. The City anticipates additional traffic impacts along Tennant Avenue during the next six months. For your safety, please obey all construction signage, reduce your speed through the work zones, and drive carefully. If possible, please use alternate routes. Please plan for extra travel time when traveling through Tennant Avenue, Church Street, Railroad Avenue, and Vineyard Boulevard.
