A suspect who recently robbed two Wells Fargo banks in San Jose may be the same suspect who recently robbed the Wells Fargo main branch at Monterey Road and Main Avenue in Morgan Hill.
The Morgan Hill Police department is cooperating in the investigation, said MHPD Lt. Joe Sampson.
“The FBI office in San Jose sent an agent down to meet with our officers,” Sampson said Thursday. “We provided the agent with information we have on the bank robbery here in Morgan Hill, and if further information becomes available, we will be sharing that with them.”
No weapons were used although in two of the robberies the suspect mentioned a gun but did not show the teller one.
The first holdup occurred April 23 at 3:16pm at the Wells Fargo at 1705 N. First St.; the second San Jose robbery occurred on May 7 at 4pm at the Wells Fargo at 191 Branham Lane.
The Morgan Hill robbery also occurred on May 7, but earlier, at 1:50pm.
San Jose Police believe the suspect is responsible for all three burglaries.
The suspect is described as an Asian male adult, mid-30’s, 5’7” to 5’9,” with a thin build, black hair and brown eyes.
During the April 23 robbery, he was wearing a dark jacket, dark shirt with “Nautica” across the chest and blue jeans. On May 7 in San Jose, he was seen wearing a black “Nike” baseball cap, white T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
Wells Fargo Bank is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in these cases.
