What inspires you?
My family inspires me. From my grandparents to my younger brother, everyone works so hard.  My mom and dad in particular, are my MVPs. Being a parent is probably one of the toughest jobs in the world. Doing all this, and never getting paid! They push me to my fullest potential and support me day and night. It’s real incredible to witness them everyday, making my life the best it could be, so I can strive out and do the same for everyone around me.
What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
I am really intrigued with mathematics, particularly statistics. I like dealing with complex numbers and patterns because in the end, it results in one concrete answer. It’s really neat that there are many ways to get to that one answer. It sparks creativity and leaves you with a good feeling if it’s correct. I also like how this usage of numbers applies to real world situations, in finance, sports or anything really. You can’t run away from numbers, so you might as well embrace them.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
A lot of children in today’s world grow up in poverty, without one or both of their parents, or are surrounded by a bad environment. Children are the future, and I believe everyone has the capability of making a difference in the world. Life for some children can be rough, and this is very sad to see. If I can change one thing, it’s that all children have a loving and stable childhood, so they can grow up with a happy life that everyone deserves.
If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
I would like to further explore our universe to find any planets that may be suitable for humans. Earth is getting kind of crowded and will only get more crowded as time goes on. It would be nice to start a planet with a fresh slate, to prevent events like global warming or mass pollution.
Name one big challenge in your life right now.
The big challenge in my life at the moment is dealing with schoolwork, along with college applications, sports, clubs and Boy Scouts. It’s tough to think about the adventures of college when you have to worry about that exam that can cripple your GPA.
What is your dream job?
My dream job would be a sports statistician for a professional sports teams, preferably in the Bay Area. Gotta love them Niners, Giants and Warriors. I enjoy dealing with numbers as mentioned earlier and there is nothing more exciting than watching your team win the championship. Combine the two and BOOM, you have a person who utilizes numbers, which benefits a team to greatness.
What are your three favorite things?
I love eating food, which ranges from a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich to “hot now” Krispy Kreme doughnuts; watching and playing sports; and creating fond memories by spending time with my closest friends and family.
Favorite book:
I really enjoyed the novel “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen since there were constant conflicts and “Oh no she didn’t” moments that resulted in a lesson about morality. But my all-time favorite novel is “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Ronald Dahl. It’s been a childhood favorite and I loved the fact they made the movie with Johnny Depp.
What do you want to do after high school?
I’ve grown up in California, and have all my family in California, so it only makes sense to go to college in California. It would be amazing to attend a prestigious UC campus such as Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Davis, major in statistics, and one day be a world-renowned statistician.
