Standard Pacific Homes of Northern California will be giving more than $30,000 in college scholarships to high school seniors throughout Northern California.
The StanPac Scholarship Program will award the scholarships to students with stellar academic achievement, dedication to community service, and financial need. Each student will receive $1,000.
“Standard Pacific Homes has always been dedicated to giving back to the communities in which it builds,” said Standard Pacific’s Northern California Regional President Doug Krah. “The StanPac Scholarship Program is our way of recognizing and rewarding some of our communities’ most outstanding and exemplary individuals. It’s our privilege to help these deserving young adults fulfill their dreams as they pursue a college education.”
Last year, the company awarded $25,000 in college scholarships to students in the Central Valley, East Bay, Sacramento, and South Bay areas.
“My parents always stressed the importance of a college education,” explained Mayra Cervantes, one of last year’s winners from Gilroy High School. “The StanPac Scholarship Program is helping me achieve my goal of graduating from San Jose State University and pursuing a career in civil engineering.”
In partnership with KNBR 680/1050 and their broadcasts of San Francisco 49ers football and the weekly Steve Young Show, scholarship winners will be announced weekly throughout the 49ers regular season on the radio stations. In addition, StanPac Scholarship winners will be presented their scholarships during an on-field check-presentation event prior to the San Francisco 49ers vs. Minnesota Viking game at Monster Park on November 5, 2006.
