The Spirit 12U wrapped up its season with a first place win in the Pleasant Hill Fastpitch Tournament, beating the Pleasanton Phantom 7-6 in the championship game.
The Spirit went undefeated for the weekend (5-0), outscoring opponents 54-14.
The team also recently returned from San Diego, where it played in the California State Games. This is the first Spirit of Morgan Hill competitive team to go the California State Games.
The girls faced some very tough competition from all over the state, ending with a 2-2 record.
This team ends the season with a 25-9 record. This season they won first place at the Ponytail Classic, Manzanita Mayhem and Pleasant Hill and a second place finish at Pleasanton.
Spirit of Morgan Hill will be holding tryouts for 1OU/12U and 14U August 10 at San Martin Gwinn Elementary. Tryouts will begin at 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit spiritofmorganhill.com.
