San Jose – The Sobrato High volleyball team is continuing its hot run through the Blossom Valley Athletic League’s West Valley Division.

The Bulldogs beat Del Mar in four games Tuesday to improve to 3-0 in league play and move above .500 overall at 5-4.

Sobrato edged Del Mar 26-24 in the first game before falling 25-22 in the second. After that it was all Bulldogs. They routed the Dons 25-11 in the third game and won 25-18 in the fourth to get the victory.

Senior Jordyn Hanne led Sobrato with 10 kills and 35 digs. Laura Billos added nine kills. Nicole Simoneau dished out 37 assists, Lisa Schroedter had 35 digs and Ariel Mosbrucker served seven aces.

League play continued Thursday night for Sobrato with a match against Oak Grove. The results were not available at press time.

Field Hockey

Morgan Hill – The Sobrato field hockey team took an early lead but couldn’t hold on for a win Wednesday against Silver Creek, falling 8-5.

The Bulldogs scored twice in both the first and second quarters and held a 4-1 lead at halftime. The Raiders narrowed the gap to 4-3 entering the fourth quarter and scored five goals in the final period to earn the win.

Girls Tennis

San Jose – Sobrato’s girls tennis team fell to James Lick on Tuesday, dropping the road match 4-2.
