San Martin Neighborhood Alliance will hear the results of a study on the financial feasibility of incorporating San Martin into a city at a meeting Thursday, July 17.
Alliance president Sylvia Hamilton said she was looking forward to hearing whether or not making San Martin into a city is possible.
“If they come up with fatal flaws, it’s a done deal, it’s over,” Hamilton said. “If they don’t find fatal flaws, it’s time to start holding block parties and town meetings to see what the community wants.”
The meeting, at 7 p.m., will take place at the San Martin Lion’s Club, 12415 Murphy Road, behind the San Martin Airport.
To bolster the alliance’s treasury, Chevy’s Fresh-Mex Restaurant, 8440 Murray Ave. in Gilroy will offer a Support San Martin Day on Sunday, July 13. The alliance will receive 20 percent of any lunch or dinner purchase – excluding tax and tips – from receipts collected in the box at the register. Details: 683-2667.
