and keys, worth an estimated $2,000 to $3,000, were stolen from a
business on the 1400 block of East Main Street in Morgan Hill,
between 11 p.m. Aug. 14 and 10 a.m. Aug. 15.
Commercial burglary

  • A cash register and safe containing money and keys, worth an estimated $2,000 to $3,000, were stolen from a business on the 1400 block of East Main Street in Morgan Hill, between 11 p.m. Aug. 14 and 10 a.m. Aug. 15.

  • The front glass door of a business on the 1000 block of San Bruno Avenue in Morgan Hill was smashed, between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and 2:35 a.m. Aug. 15, but the victim was unable to determine if any property was stolen from inside.

  • The front glass door of a business on 11700 block Watsonville Road, was shattered and a cash box containing $200 was stolen from inside, between 5:15 p.m. Aug. 8 and 9:57 a.m. Aug. 9.

Trespassing

  • Anthony Wayne Barreras, 28, of Gilroy, 2:45 p.m. Aug. 13, near Camino Arroyo and Gilman Road after deputies found him living in a tent behind Wal-Mart on the property of the Santa Clara Valley Water District.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

  • Antonio Mendoza Zepeda, 29, of San Martin, 4:40 p.m. Aug. 12, near Monterey Road and Highland Avenue in San Martin for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Juan Carlos Santos, 25, of Gilroy, 12:07 a.m. Aug. 11, near 10th and Church streets for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a dirk or dagger.

  • Guadalupe Espinoza, 43, transient, 10:08 p.m. Aug. 8, on the 12600 block of Harding Avenue in San Jose.

  • Amanda Dawn Luna, 29, of San Martin, 12:45 p.m. Aug. 5, on the 1300 block of Harding Avenue in San Martin for being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting or obstructing a police officer.

Unregistered vehicle

  • Kevin Lee Girard, 47, of San Jose, 9:54 a.m. Aug. 11, near Cochrane Road and U.S. 101 in Morgan Hill for unregistered vehicle and wrongful display of a license plate.

Possession of less than an ounce of marijuana

  • Jason Edward Booten, 21, of San Martin, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9, near Monterey Road and Highland Avenue in San Martin.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

  • Rikki Henry Martinez, 31, of Gilroy, 12:30 a.m. Aug. 8, near Luchessa Avenue and Monterey Road.

Unlicensed driver

  • Honorio Lopez-Ortega, 22, of Morgan Hill, 12:20 p.m. Aug. 4, on Monterey Highway in Morgan Hill for driving without a license and fraudulent display of a license plate.

OTHER INCIDENTS

Residential burglary

  • A rock was thrown through the window of a residence on the 13100 block of Llagas Avenue in San Martin and an iPod Touch and a Gateway laptop computer were stolen from inside, between 2 and 6:20 p.m. Aug. 15.

  • A vacant house on the 700 block of Maple Street in Morgan Hill was forcibly entered and appliances inside were tampered with, between 2 p.m. July 20 and 1 p.m. Aug. 5, though nothing was stolen.

Theft of a license plate

  • The rear license plate of a 1988 purple Ford F-150 parked on the 9900 block of Pacheco Pass Highway was stolen, between 8 p.m. Aug. 11 and 9 p.m. Aug. 12.

Vandalism

  • Two lamp posts were broken and eggs were smashed onto the keypad at a gated residence at Rockwood Ranch in Morgan Hill, between 6 p.m. Aug. 11 and 8:10 p.m. Aug. 12.

  • Graffiti was left at several locations at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., causing about $500 in damage, between 3 p.m. Aug. 9 and 6 a.m. Aug. 10.

Burglary

  • A garage door was damaged on the 3000 block of Paseo Vista Avenue in San Martin and items in the garage were moved around but nothing was taken, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 11.

  • A large roll-up door was removed from a barn building on the 1700 block of Church Avenue, between 5 p.m. Aug. 2 and 5 p.m. Aug. 6.

  • A Craftsman air compressor and skill saw and two casserole dishes were stolen from a property on the 6700 block of Esther Lake Road in Morgan Hill, between 2 p.m. Aug. 5 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 10.

Identity theft

  • A San Martin woman’s and man’s credit card information was used to make $950 in charges, between 12 a.m. July 1, 2009 and 1:38 p.m. Aug. 10.

Grand theft

  • An envelope containing $3,000 was removed from a desk on the 700 block of Buena Vista Avenue, between 8 a.m. July 1 and 12 p.m. July 15.

Auto burglary

  • A purse was stolen from the trunk of a 1997 white Toyota Camry near San Martin and New avenues, between 8:05 and 8:45 a.m. Aug. 10.

  • Hundreds of tools worth thousands of dollars were stolen from a 2004 yellow van on the 1600 block of West Edmundson Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 6 a.m. Aug. 7 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8.

Trespassing

  • Three 31-year-old men from Gilroy and San Martin drove their dirt bikes onto a property near Miller Avenue and Santa Teresa Boulevard without the permission of the owner, who desires prosecution, between 5 and 5:44 p.m. Aug. 7,
