The Sheriff’s Department is trying to get the message out to South Valley residents about what resources are available at the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s sub-station located in San Martin.

Many South Valley residents travel to the Sheriff’s headquarters in San Jose to use various resources such as Megan’s Law CDs, fingerprinting, warrant checks, vehicle property release, bail posting, immigration and visa matters – all of which can be accessed in San Martin.

“I think a lot of people just don’t know we’re here,” said Lt. Larry said. “You wouldn’t believe how many times people drive all the way up to San Jose to get fingerprints or post bail.”

Located adjacent to the South County Courthouse on the corner of Highland Avenue and Monterey Road in San Martin, the sub-station is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The station also maintains full bilingual services and houses the county’s only rural crimes unit.

“We are here to serve the people of South County,” Lopez said. “We have the resources, and we want everyone to know they can access this information without having to drive to San Jose.”

Details: 686-3650.
