SAN MARTIN/GWINN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL fifth-graders, under the direction of teacher TIM DOWNER, participated in the CIVIL WAR DAYS SCHOOL PROGRAM at Roaring Camp Railroads, in Felton, May 23.
The group received an award for participating in the SCHOOL OF THE SOLDIER. The recognition is given to the class that demonstrates knowledge of the Civil War, exhibits outstanding behavior and respect and shows notable enthusiasm. The class prepared for the field trip by studying the history of the Civil War, marching and singing songs like Battle Cry of Freedom and Tenting on the Old Campground.
