What a week at Live Oak! This past Thursday was a great day. One
of my favorite days anyway. It was club food day! Students waited
for that bell to ring at lunch and crowded the quad to get in line
for their favorite food. I must say at our club food days we have a
little bit of everything. MMMmmmmm … what a good day.

Flyers were passed around campus throughout last week promoting the In Da Club Remix dance. Well, those flyers really got the word around because the dance was a hit. Not only was it packed from students at Live Oak, but Sobrato joined us as well as other students from local schools. This dance is usually very successful, because it’s $5 at the door and anybody can come as long as they are with a student from Live Oak. So on Saturday night, the Live Oak gym was the place to be. From 8-11 there was non-stop dancing and hit after hit music. There was a fabulous light show put on by Live Oak students, refreshments, music and lots of people! Can it get any better than that?
Well another successful Live Oak dance was put on and now all we have left is Junior and Senior Prom. I can’t believe how fast this years going by. For us seniors, it is our last dance of high school. Okay, moving on from the subject that just about brings a tear to my eye. (What can I say? I’m a proud Acorn. As much as I look forward to college, I have so many memories here at Live Oak.)
Well, love is in the air at Live Oak this week. So many crazy nuts in love. As we all know Monday was Valentine’s Day and Cupid’s arrow struck many Acorns. Crush cans and roses were delivered to students to make their Valentine’s extra special. Now it’s the student’s decision to find out who sent them that crush can. Only for $1 they can go to the ASB office and their crush will be revealed. Gotta love Valentine’s Day!
There is more fun in store at Live Oak. On Thursday we are putting on our annual Lip Scene concert. Now that’s some entertainment. Some students have been practicing for months. There is a variety of music and routines that will be performed. I can explain a little more in detail how entertaining and fun this event really is, but you really can’t just take my word for it! You must attend! Trust me, it is worth it. So come down to Live Oak’s Little Theatre at 7pm Thursday. This event is open to the public.
Our basketball season is coming to an end, and our boys are doing great. For all of you Acorn fans, come support your nuts either this Wednesday against Gilroy at Gilroy, or on Friday against Hollister here at Live Oak. Junior varsity begins at 5:30pm and varsity at 7pm. Friday is their last home game and also senior night.
Well, that’s all I have for you this week. Keep reading to see what us crazy nuts are up to next.
