The Rotary Club of Morgan Hill’s 11th annual Dazzle event—held May 27 at the Clos LaChance Winery—raised $52,000 for community organizations, according to a June 15 announcement.
The intimate setting at Clos LaChance perfectly matched the event’s theme of an “Evening in Tuscany.” The 160 guests enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a three-course Italian dinner and an energizing operatic performance by the internationally acclaimed “Three Waiters.”
Guests, who were welcomed with Dazzle’s signature hosted champagne and wine reception, participated in a raffle showcase, a live auction and the new “Giving Tree,” where they learned how their specific donations fund much-needed services around the world.
Diamond sponsors included Clos LaChance, Ladera Grill and Smart Products. Emerald Sponsors included Johnson Lumber/Ace Hardware, Hiland Consulting, the Morgan Hill Times, RNP Advisory Services, Inc., The Jewel Box Morgan Hill and South Valley Internet. Ruby Sponsors included Anritsu, The Ford Store Morgan Hill, Heritage Bank of Commerce, RAM Commercial Insurance Services and Rosy’s at the Beach.
Dave Conragan, president of the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill, provided opening remarks about the event’s history and the many local and international projects that the funds raised by Dazzle have supported over the last decade.
Dazzle attendees then enjoyed a delicious sunset buffet dinner prepared by Cellar Door Catering’s Chef Lou Zulaica when they were entertained by the Three Waiters who provided laughter and singing.
Following the entertainment was a live auction, where fierce bidding drove up prices and increased opportunities as several donors doubled their offerings so that multiple bidders were able to go home with prizes.
The evening ended with the exciting drawing for the much-coveted “champagne glass half carat diamond” from The Jewel Box of Morgan Hill.
