Rotary Club of Morgan Hill scholarship winners from Live Oak and

Seventeen local high school seniors were awarded college scholarships by the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill at ceremonies on May 9.

The $2,000 Ralph and Rose Fitzsimmons Agricultural Scholarship for outstanding achievement and commitment to agricultural studies was awarded to Evan Mulch of Live Oak High School.

The $1,000 Bill Staples Music Scholarship for outstanding achievement in music studies was awarded to Samantha Bondi of Ann Sobrato High School.

Recipients of $1,000 scholarships for outstanding academic achievement went to Live Oak students Acacia BrownKorbel, Vincent Hatakeyama, Ariana Hosseini, Jessica Lammers, Monica Lines, Valerie Lines, Shaila Patel, Jennifer Simmons and Andrew Wisneski.

Sobrato students receiving the $1,000 academic achievement scholarships were Amanda Daspit, Jilliane Jackson, Aleah Klingenberg, Sky Sandberg, Emily Tewes and Daisey Topete.

The club’s scholarship committee is headed by David de la Cuesta and Mike Johnson, with committee members Tracy Newquist and Steve Tate. Dr. Dan Gregg guided the selection of the Rose and Ralph Fitzsimmons Scholarship recipient.

Rotary Club of Morgan Hill is a part of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
