San Martin – A rollover single-vehicle accident Friday morning slowed traffic on southbound Highway 101 to a crawl for approximately an hour as rescue vehicles shut down the number-three lane just north of the San Martin exit.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Armstrong, the accident occurred just before noon. Arva Taylor, 40, of Morgan Hill, was driving south on Highway 101 in a BMW in the number-two lane when she allowed the car to drift to the right. Armstrong said it’s not clear why she let the car drift right.

The BMW left the roadway, Armstrong said, and the front of the car collided with a callbox. When Taylor turned the wheel to the left to correct, the BMW rolled, coming to rest on its wheels on the right shoulder.

Rescue personnel arrived to find Taylor standing beside the car, with some bruises and scrapes. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the rollover.

Just in case Taylor was more severely injured than she appeared to be, she was taken by ambulance for treatment, Armstrong said, and was released shortly afterward.

Taylor was not charged in the incident.
