I have been involved with Pop Warner on and off for the last four years. My older daughter cheered for two years for the Midget Division team. This was a very good experience for her.
I will never forget the first Cheer Competition. When I walked into the gym at Independence High School, I got goose bumps. It is awesome experiences watching your daughter perform her routine. The next year she cheered, I took over as assistant coach for their squad. This year her squad placed second at the first competition. Once again, I had goose bumps.
Pop Warner is a very good experience for our children. If we get our fields taken away, our children may never have these experiences with Pop Warner again. Currently I am the team parent for my younger daughter’s cheer squad. his is her first year. She is a Mitey Mite. She loves it. This also has been a wonderful experience for her.
Since Pop Warner is not going to be able to use Live Oak as our home field next season. I urge the school district to consider renovating Britton Middle School Field for home games. It would be devastating if Morgan Hill Pop Warner ended, due to having no where to play our games.
Renovation of the Britton field would be a winning solution for all parties. The field is in desperate need of help. Other sports organizations could make use of the updated field also. This means additional revenues for the school district. I can think only of positive reasons to renovate the field. Please consider this for the children. Let us not disappoint them.
