Well the building is going to be the new South County courthouse. After mold was found in the facility in San Martin, county and city officials decided to bring the courthouse to Morgan Hill.
The $50.5 million project, which broke ground Dec. 16 of last year, is scheduled to be completed in August 2006. There will be two buildings, one for the six courtrooms, juries and underground holding areas for prisoners, the other for district attorneys, public defenders and probation department, all totaling 90,000 sq. ft.
If the caller was hoping for something a little different, remember the indoor recreation center, next to Community Park, is also under construction and is scheduled to be completed on Aug. 16, 2006 for a Sept. 5, 2006 opening.
E-mail fraud alert
Red Phone’s e-mail has recently has been inundated with e-mails (at re******@*************es.com where you can submit a question to your crimson crusader) supposedly from Paypal and eBay threatening Red Phone’s account will be shut off if its personal information is not re-entered.
Since Red Phone’s personal information goes as far as a phone number and e-mail, it checked out the Paypal and eBay Web sites and learned these e-mails, called “phishers,” are ways to steal people’s identities or install spyware or computer viruses.
People set up false Web sites that look exactly like Paypal’s or eBay’s. Ironically, they even include a link to the security center that warns people of this exact problem.
If you ever receive one of these e-mails, do not follow the links and certainly do not give any information. Forward the e-mail to sp***@****al.com or sp***@**ay.com, depending which e-mail you receive.
For more information, visit www.paypal.com or www.ebay.com.
