FLAGS IN THE DARK

I understand that the American flag should be taken down at night or have lights shine on it and I was wondering why the Morgan Hill City Hall does not do that. The flag is up rain or shine, day or night with no lights.

We called Ken De Luna, the city’s head building inspector, to find out why the flags are dark. Ken went out to look and discovered that the bulb that floods the American and California flags is broken.

“The kids from the library constantly vandalize them,” De Luna said Thursday. “It will be lit tonight.”

De Luna said flags at every city facility are lit, as they should be. And he thanked the caller for the heads up.
