Raymond R. Lujan of Gilroy died at his home on May 26, 2005,
after a lengthy illness ending with cancer at the age of 71.
Raymond R. Lujan of Gilroy died at his home on May 26, 2005, after a lengthy illness ending with cancer at the age of 71.
Raymond was born and raised in Gilroy. He attended Gilroy schools and worked as a truck driver for various companies, including Mike Conrotto Trucking, Trevis Berry Trucking and himself. He last worked as a driver for Soledad Landscape Supply Co. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He was the husband of Rita D. Lujan of Gilroy; brother of Tommy Lujan Sr. and his wife, Arlene, Ruben Lujan Sr. and his wife, Lupe, Sonny Roa and his wife, Linda, all of Gilroy, Frank Lujan Sr. and his wife, Olivia, Beatrice Mendoza, all of Roseville, Bobby Lujan Sr. and his wife, Ruby of Hollister, Lupe Roa and his wife, Lynn of Oregon, Rachel Burns and her late husband, Jack, and Donnie Rodriguez and his wife, Gina of Las Vegas, and the late Richard Lujan Sr. and his widow, Mary; father of Raymond Lujan Jr. of Sonora, Margie Lucio and Chris Holzberger, both of Aptos, Manny, Nellie, Tony, and Ronnie Lujan, all of Gilroy, and the late Jessie Lujan. He also is survived by the mother of his children, Marie Lujan of Aptos. He was the father-in-law of Jim Lopez, Valerie Kosier and Jimmy Lucio, all of Gilroy. He also is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1pm Friday, June 3, at Habing Family Funeral Home with Vigil Service at 7pm. Services will be at 10am Saturday, June 4, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
