Weekend temperatures will cool, and Monday will usher in even cooler conditions as a series of frontal boundaries moves across northern California, with rain becoming “likely” in the northern Bay Area, according to the National Weather Service. The organization estimated for a quarter to half an inch of rainfall next week, marking the first rainstorm of the season.

Imminent climate projections for Morgan Hill are 72 degrees with a 20 percent chance of rain Monday; 74 degrees with a 30 percent chance of rain Tuesday; and 72 degrees with a 50 percent chance of rain Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are looking dry, although temperatures will continue to cool down. The NWS also states strong winds are also a possibility in next week’s weather menu.

The organization warns “this is the time to clean out storm drains to prevent localized urban flooding. Roadways will be slippery with the first significant rain of the season, and drivers are urged to use caution.”

People traveling to the Sierras next week should plan for winter weather conditions and carry chains, according to the NWS.

The NWS also states a dry air mass will settle over all of northern California towards Thursday and Friday.
