Alameda – Daniel Puder makes a living out of delivering big kicks and punches as a mixed martial arts fighter.

But on Saturday, the local fighter, whose family lives in Morgan Hill, will go to work to help deliver something different – holiday packages to United States military personnel serving overseas.

Puder will be joined by San Jose’s Cung Le, another star mixed martial arts fighter, as they will put on an exhibition showcase during TroopFest 2006, an event that raises funds to help enhance the holidays for U.S. troops.

“We’re trying to get more people involved with TroopFest,” Puder said. “We thought doing this would bring a new crowd that would want to know about the cause. I wanted to support it. I support our troops 100 percent.”

The event, which includes performances by classic rock bands, a barbecue lunch, aircraft carrier tours and a raffle, takes place Saturday from 10am to 5pm aboard the USS Hornet at the old Alameda Naval Air Station.

All Pro Wrestling, a northern California professional wrestling company, is also joining in on the event by supplying the ring and wrestlers.

There will be three matches beginning at noon. Puder and Le will also sign autographs from 1-1:30pm.

Tickets for TroopFest are $25 for adults, $25 for youth ages 12-17, $7 for kids ages 5-11 and children 4 and under are free. A special military price is available for $10 with a valid military ID.

Tickets and more information are available by visiting www.troopfest.org.
