San Jose – A national champion gymnast since the tender age of
9, Josh Dixon hopes to again qualify for the junior national
gymnastics team when he competes next week at the prestigious U.S.
Visa Championships in San Jose.
San Jose – A national champion gymnast since the tender age of 9, Josh Dixon hopes to again qualify for the junior national gymnastics team when he competes next week at the prestigious U.S. Visa Championships in San Jose.

His two biggest accomplishments to date are being an Academic All American each year during high school and having been on the U.S. Junior National team since he was only nine years old. “It’s been an honor to be on the national team all these years,”‘ Dixon said in a press release. “That’s the only way you have a chance to compete internationally and to qualify for the Olympics.”

From Aug. 15-18 Dxon will be compete at the HP Pavillion as the only gymnast from San Jose that qualified to be able to represent his hometown.

Dixon maintains an extremely regimented practice schedule of four hours a day, six days a week, sometimes even training twice a day during the summer months.

He trains under world-renowned gymnast and Olympic champion JinJing Zhang, who owns and operates Champions Academy, a state of the art gymnastics training center in Morgan Hill.

See Josh in action Aug. 15 at 1pm at the HP Pavilion when competes in all 7 events including floor, palm horse, steel rings, vault, parallel bars, uneven bars and horizontal bars.
