• L&M Windows reported someone cut through the gate to the business and broke in over the weekend. The report was taken at 9:27 a.m. on Feb. 16.

Child abuse: A 38-year-old Morgan Hill man was taken to county jail charged with inflicting corporal injury on a child. The report was taken on Feb. 2 at 2:30 p.m.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported when her ex-husband dropped off their 3-year-old daughter after a day visit, she found two bruises around her daughter’s eyes and a cut on her top lip. The ex-husband said the daughter fell, but the mother said she has noticed more and more bruises on her daughter after visits. The report was taken at 9:47 a.m. on Feb. 12.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported the mother of his 15-month-old child failed to check on the child or do anything after the child “did a somersault through the air in the crib and fell.” The child allegedly “always” has scratch marks and bruises on her when he picks her up from her mother’s residence. The report was taken on Feb. 16 at 12:47 p.m.

Vandalism: A Morgan Hill resident reported his Nissan Ultima was vandalized while parked in the Tennant Station parking lot on Feb. 6. The report was taken on Feb. 12 at 11:18 a.m.

• A resident of the 16800 block of DeWitt Avenue reported someone shattered the driver side window of his Mercedes, possibly with a bullet. The report was taken at 11:27 a.m. on Feb. 14.

• A resident of the 16200 block of Monterey Road reported a large rock was thrown though the back window of his Toyota Camry. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 4:55 p.m.

• A resident of Del Monte Lane reported someone slashed the tires on his vehicle over the weekend. The report was taken at 12:04 p.m. on Feb. 16.

Tampering with a vehicle: A resident of the 16800 block of Barnell Avenue reported the rear license plate was stolen from the resident’s vehicle. The report was taken on Feb. 14 at 11:29 p.m.

Petty theft: Albertson’s reported three juveniles stole a bottle of alcohol from the store. The report was taken on Feb. 13 at 6:35 p.m.

SHERIFF

Grand theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported a laptop computer valued at $2,600 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway, and a $400 drill press and a $150 radial saw were stolen from the resident’s tool shed.

• Someone stole $1,300 worth of items from a barn at 2480 Hecker Pass Highway west of Gilroy between Feb. 29 and March 2.

• Gourmet Veg. Paq. Company reported a booster pump valued at $17,000 was stolen sometime between midnight of Feb. 28 and 3 p.m. March 3. The pump is used to irrigate crops. The report was taken on March 3 at 3:45 p.m.

Stolen vehicle: A bus was stolen from in front of Golden Valley Nut Co. north of Gilroy between 8 a.m. on Feb. 23 and 4 p.m. on Feb. 25. A witness saw a red tow truck remove the 22-passenger bus at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 24. The report was taken on Feb. 26 at 8 p.m.

• A Gilroy resident reported a 2003 GMC van was stolen from a driveway in Gilroy. The keys were left in the ignition. The report was taken at 6:30 p.m. on March 2.

Fraud: A resident reported someone used the resident’s Master Card to make a $119.02 purchase at Microsoft. The report was taken on March 1 at 5:30 p.m.

Vandalism: A resident reported omeone broke the latch to the gas cover of a vehicle and damaged the engine. The damage is estimated at $2,000.

• Someone broke the back and driver side windows and a tail light of a vehicle in Morgan Hill between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. on March. The damage was estimated at $390. The report was taken on March 5 at 8 a.m.

Burglary: Mission Organics reported farm equipment valued at $2,150 was stolen from a storage container overnight. The thief also broke into a locked storage container and took four boxes of lettuces seed valued at $2,225 and $700 more in equipment. The report was taken at 10 a.m. on Feb. 24.

• A locked gun safe was stolen from the locked supply room of a business on Pacheco Pass Highway in Gilroy overnight. The safe contained the night deposit, which was under $400. The report was taken on March 5.

Auto burglary: A $20 car charger and a $40 parking pass were stolen from a Mercury Tracer parked at the “A” Gavilan College parking lot between 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 20. The report was taken at noon on Feb. 23.

Assault and Battery: A male resident reported omeone drove a gold Ford Probe onto his property between 5:40 and 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 28. The resident reportedly went in front of the vehicle to talk to the driver; the vehicle started to slow down, but allegedly suddenly sped up, forcing the resident to move in order to avoid being run over. The resident then hit the car with a rake, leaving a crack in the windshield. As the suspects left, the passenger was heard yelling, “We’ll be back.” The report was taken at 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 28.
