MORGAN HILL POLICE Kidnapping: A resident of Spring Hill Drive
reported her 17-year-old daughter and her daughter
’s friend were picked up at the residence on Feb. 11 by a male
who the daughter had met on-line. They got into his vehicle
willingly, and the resident said, he told them he would drive them
to a friend’s residence. Instead, he drove them to Roseville and
dropped them off at a mall, telling them
he would be back in 10 minutes and never returned. The report
was taken on Feb. 24 at 10:10 a.m.

Kidnapping: A resident of Spring Hill Drive reported her 17-year-old daughter and her daughter’s friend were picked up at the residence on Feb. 11 by a male who the daughter had met on-line. They got into his vehicle willingly, and the resident said, he told them he would drive them to a friend’s residence. Instead, he drove them to Roseville and dropped them off at a mall, telling them he would be back in 10 minutes and never returned. The report was taken on Feb. 24 at 10:10 a.m.

Fraud: George’s Auto Service reported a collection agency was hired to collect past due accounts. The agency representative asked for a check up front for 25 percent of the total, or $1,082. The check was cashed, but no money was collected on past due accounts. The representative’s phone, pager, etc., have all been disconnected. The report was taken on Feb. 17 at 10:18 a.m.

• A resident of Christine Lynn Drive reported someone used the resident’s identity, phone number and credit card number in an attempt to charge $500 in merchandise at a Tower Records store. The report was taken at 8:33 a.m. on Feb. 18.

• A Tool Shed Equipment Rentals reported someone used a false identification to rent a carpet cleaner on May 23, 2003. The report was taken on Feb. 18 at 3:24 p.m.

• A resident of Huston Court reported someone used her bank card information to purchase merchandise from Nordstroms. She told police this occurred four times for a total of $500. The report was taken at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 25.

Battery: A resident of Mathilda Avenue reported two males and a female “jumped” the resident and her boyfriend. The resident told police it was an argument over a parking place that turned physical. The report was taken on Feb. 22 at 12:26 a.m.

Auto burglary: A resident of San Pedro Avenue reported several items were stolen from the resident’s unlocked Chrysler minivan. The report was taken on Feb. 15 at 2:23 p.m.

• A resident of the 16900 block of Oakridge reported books and school papers, an ID card and access card for a secure site were stolen from the resident’s unlocked vehicle. The report was taken at 12:11 p.m. on Feb. 17.

• A resident of the 16900 block of Del Monte Avenue reported someone stole a stereo CD player and a wallet from a locked Honda Civic. The resident said there is no forced entry but thinks that the window was pried open. The report was taken on Feb. 19 at 7:18 a.m.

• A resident of the Village Avante Apartment Homes reported someone took a stereo from the resident’s locked Acura Integra. There is no sign of forced entry, the resident said. The report was taken at 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 19.

• A resident of the 700 block of San Pedro Avenue reported someone stole tools and amplifiers from his locked Buick station wagon and attempted to take the stereo from the dashboard. The resident said there was no sign of forced entry. The report was taken on Feb. 19 at 12:46 p.m.

• A resident of the 16700 block of Feliz Court reported someone stole her wallet from her unlocked Dodge Caravan. The report was taken at 9 a.m. on Feb. 21.

• A resident of Calero Court reported someone stole change from her unlocked Mercury Villager. The report was taken on Feb. 21 at 1:02 p.m.

• A resident of the 2300 block of Cimarron Drive reported the resident’s daughter interrupted a burglary of the resident’s Mitsubishi Eclipse. The driver’s side window was shattered, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken at 11:35 p.m. on Feb. 21.

• Far C Ing Enterprises reported a Ford pickup was broken into, and the front seat and battery were stolen. The steering column was also tampered with. The left front wing window was broken. The report was taken on Feb. 23 at 8:23 a.m.

• A resident of the 2400 block of Pinto reported someone broke into her locked Chevy Suburban and Chevy truck and took registrations, tools, power tools, an impact wrench and tile cutter. The report was taken at 2:06 p.m. on Feb. 23.

• A resident of the 1000 block of Easy Street reported a CD player, 96 CDs, a purse containing identification, bank statements and cash were stolen from her unlocked Ford truck overnight. The report was taken on Feb. 23 at 3:05 p.m.

• An employee of A & J Machining reported the back window of the employee’s vehicle was shattered and the radio was stolen. The report was taken at 9:37 p.m. on Feb. 23.

• A resident of the 15800 block of La Porte Court reported someone broke into the resident’s Ford pickup through the back window overnight and stole a wallet. The report was taken on Feb. 25 at 1:28 p.m.

• A resident of the La Crosse Village Apartments reported a checkbook, leather jacket, palm pilot and prescription sunglasses stolen from an unlocked vehicle left in an open garage. The report was taken at 4:27 p.m. on Feb. 25.

• A resident of the 2400 block of Fountain Oaks Drive reported her locked Eagle Talon was broken into overnight. The driver’s window was shattered, and the stereo was stolen. The report was taken on Feb. 26 at 8:07 a.m.

• A resident of the 1900 block of KatyBeth reported someone broke into his locked Toyota 4Runner and took the stereo. The passenger window was broken. The report was taken at 12:16 p.m. on Feb. 26.

Threats: A resident of the 16700 block of Cerro Vista Drive reported her husband has threatened to “do away with her” or kill her. The husband has two guns in the garage, according to the resident. The report was taken on Feb. 24 at 8:50 a.m.

Burglary: Nordstrom Elementary CDC program reported a computer missing and the office ransacked. Boards had been placed in front of the windows. The report was taken on Feb. 17 at 6:31 a.m.

• A resident of Caprice Court reported he returned from vacation to find his home ransacked. Credit cards were maxed out, he reported, alcohol was stolen and walls were damaged to steal wiring. The report was taken at 5:05 p.m. on Feb. 21.

• MDR Machines reported aluminum chips and scrap metal were stolen from locked metal bins. The locks were cut off the bins. The metals were valued at approximately $200-300. The report was taken on Feb. 23 at 8:17 a.m.

• A resident of La Jolla Court reported returning home to find drawers open in the bedroom. A bottle containing quarters and some other money were stolen. The report was taken at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 23.

• A resident of the 400 block of Corte Cabanil reported someone broke into the residence through the bathroom window. The house was ransacked, and a large amount of property was stolen. The report was taken on Feb. 25. at 4:04 p.m.

Stolen vehicle: A resident of Village Avante Apartment Homes reported a Honda Civic stolen from the parking lot. The report was taken on Feb. 21 at 2:48 a.m.

• A resident of the Murphy Ranch Apartment Homes reported a Honda Accord was stolen overnight. The report was taken at 10:34 a.m. on Feb. 26.

Tampering with a vehicle: A resident of the 15200 block of La Alameda reported the front license was stolen from her vehicle. The report was taken on Feb. 23 at 8:41 a.m.

• A resident of Hazelton Court reported the rear license plate of a Chevy pickup was stolen. The report was taken at 12:49 p.m. on Feb. 23.

Embezzlement: Armored Transport Systems reported theft by an employee of $2,761.30 on Nov. 1 and $5,158.30 on Oct. 20. The report was taken on Feb. 20 at 12:58 p.m.

Grand theft: A resident of the 100 block of La Crosse Drive reported someone pried open the tool box on the back of his truck and stole a power drill, cordless drills and a ratchet set overnight. The report was taken on Feb. 19 at 8:09 a.m.

• A resident of the 16600 block of Nina Lane reported someone stole two lion statues, valued at $600, from in front of the residence on Feb. 15. The report was taken at 4:11 p.m. on Feb. 19.

Petty theft: A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s son’s cell phone was stolen from his backpack while he was at school on Jan. 27. The report was taken on Feb. 17 at 3:01 p.m.

• A business in the 16900 block of Monterey Road reported a group of female juveniles entered the business and stole a cell phone. The report was taken at 7:04 p.m. on Feb. 18.

• A resident of the 200 block of W. Dunne Avenue reported her mailbox was stolen overnight. The report was taken on Feb. 19 at 9:19 a.m.

• Johnson’s Funeral Home reported mail was placed in the business’ mailbox in the morning to be picked up and later some of the mail was found scattered around behind the business with some checks missing. The report was taken at 9:07 a.m. on Feb. 24.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her daughter’s cell phone was stolen from the locker room at Live Oak High. The report was taken on Feb. 24 at 3:47 p.m.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her daughter’s cell phone was stolen sometime during the last few periods at Live Oak High. The report was taken at 4:58 p.m. on Feb. 24.

• A resident of the 16700 block of Ranger Court reported tools were stolen from his tool box in the bed of a construction truck. A toolbelt, chisels, pliers, tin snips were stolen. The report was taken on Feb. 27 at 6:51 a.m.

Vandalism: A Comcast employee reported someone shattered a window on her Saturn while it was parked in the parking lot. The employee told police she terminated an employee the same day and thinks the former employee may be responsible for the damage. The report was taken on Feb. 19 at 10:50 p.m.

• A residence in the 14700 block of Native Dancer was splattered with paint, a person who was staying in the house for the owners while they are out of town, reported. The report was taken at 10:24 a.m. on Feb. 21.

• Club El Noa Noa reported a customer broke windows in the restaurant. The report was taken on Feb. 22 at 2:14 a.m.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported windows of a Ford were broken while it was parked in the parking lot of medical offices in the 17700 block of Hale Avenue. The report was taken at 9:43 a.m. on Feb. 23.

• A resident of the 17300 block of DeWitt Avenue reported someone broke the window of his Ford Tempo. The report was taken on Feb. 26 at 4:40 a.m.
