Two airlifted after Pacheco Pass crash
• Two men were airlifted to Stanford Medical Center following a crash on Pacheco Pass Highway (Highway 152) Saturday afternoon. Adolfo Aguilar Nieto, 71, of Santa Clara, driving a 2000 Chevy, was approaching the highway from the south on a private road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Nieto pulled out in front of Ricardo Dejeronimo Flores, 32, of San Jose, who was driving a 1990 Honda eastbound on the highway, the CHOP said. The front of Flores’ car collided with the left side of Nieto’s, causing moderate injuries to both men, who were taken by medical helicopter to Stanford Medical Center.

Stolen van recovered:
• A stolen white 1994 Ford van was recovered at 5pm April 1 at Watsonville Road and Bowden Court in Morgan Hill.
Drugs:
• Jose Juan Gonzalez, 33, of San Jose, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 7:50pm March 29 at Monterey Road and Old Monterey Road in Morgan Hill for possession of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving without a license. Gonzalez was stopped for having no license plates on his vehicle, when the deputy noticed symptoms of being under the influence. He was unlicensed and found in possession of a crystallic substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine and less than an ounce of marijuana. He was booked into the Main Jail.
Burglary attempt:
• A burglar attempted to burglarize a residence on Church Avenue in San Martin between 6pm March 21 and 5pm March 22 by prying open a rear door, knocking out a door knob to a garage and taking a screen off a front window. Unable to enter either the garage or residence, the burglar was unsuccessful in his/her attempts.
• A burglar attempted to burglarize a white 1989 Toyota 4-Runner on New Avenue in San Martin between 6pm March 20 and 8:30am March 23. The side door lock was damaged.
Illegal dumping:
• Roby J. Galbraith, 40, of 14880-B Llagas Ave. , San Martin, allegedly dumped a boat and trailer on the north end of Armsby Lane and Sycamore Avenue in Morgan Hill between 11:09 and 11:25am March 30. Galbraith is in Santa Clara jail for unrelated charges.
Burglary
• A Hispanic male and a Hispanic female removed the screen and entered a residence on Llagas Avenue in San Martin through a closed rear window between 2 and 2:45pm March 26 and took DVDs, sports figurines, hot wheels, clothing and electrical equipment worth about $700 before exiting through a bathroom window. The suspects fled in a tan 4-door minivan.
• A burglar entered three locked vehicles in the Gavilan College parking lot on Santa Teresa Boulevard and stole stereo equipment, causing damage to the dashboards, by smashing the windows. A black 2000 Isuzu pickup, a black 1996 Chevy pickup and a white 1991 GMC van were burglarized.
• A burglar pried open the door to a residence on E. Middle Street in San Martin and stole various items worth about $6,190, including a $1,000 Pentium 3 computer, between 8am March 22 and 3pm March 29.
Vandalism:
• A vandal smashed the passenger window of a black 2001 Mazda Tribute, causing damage of more than $500, at Llagas and Maple avenues in San Martin between 10:30am March 23 and 12:15am March 29, as reported at 12:38am March 29.
• A vandal slashed three tires on a victim’s silver 2000 Toyota Avalon on Diana Avenue in Morgan Hill between 4pm March 26 and 8am March 27, as reported at 9am March 27.
• A vandal smashed the passenger side window of a black 2001 Mazda Tribute at Llagas and Maple avenues in San Martin between 10:30 am March 23 and 12:15am March 29, causing a damage of about $500.
Theft:
• A thief stole a bicycle worth about $220 from in front of a residence on Harding Ave-nue in San Martin between 6pm March 29 and noon March 30.
