• Burglary: Duc Housing reported someone broke into a
construction trailer at a job site at Dougherty and Basil and stole
copper piping, power boxes, large electrical cords and other items.

• Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported she left her wallet in her daughter’s car the night before, and in the morning it was missing. She told police the wallet was possibly stolen by friends of her daughter who were in the car or while the car was parked overnight at the Windmill Mobile Home Park on San Pedro Avenue. She told police she received a call from the bank that a suspect was trying to use one of her checks to purchase more than $1,000 in merchandise from the Target store in Gilroy. The report was taken at 4:43pm.
July 29
• Burglary: Young’s Market on Jarvis Drive reported someone broke into the business overnight and left a license plate behind. It was unclear at the time of the report if anything was stolen. The report was taken at 7:52am.
• Fraud: The owner of the Red Lotus in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center reported two French-speaking males came into the business and sold her two laptop computers for a total of $1,200. When she opened the box, there was only a bag of flour in the box. She told police she took pictures with her camera phone of both suspects. The report was taken at 1:58pm.
• Brandishing: A resident of San Pedro Avenue reported his juvenile son was cooking chorizo, and when he told his son to turn on the fan, his son got mad and brandished a kitchen knife at him. He told police the son left for Salinas, and he spoke with his son’s probation officer, who told him to contact the police. The report was taken at 2:36pm.
• Battery: A Morgan Hill resident reported her husband accused her of cheating on him on June 30 and July 1 and pushed her and grabbed her arm. He then pulled a knife on her, she told police. She also said there were domestic violence problems in the past, but she did not report them. The report was taken at 2:41pm.
• Suspicious circumstances: Extended Stay America on Jarvis Drive reported someone used painter’s tape and cardboard to make a fake stick of dynamite, complete with fake fuse and “TNT” written on it. The fake dynamite was taped to a guest’s vehicle. The report was taken at 7:09pm.
July 31
• Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported their locked Chevy Cavalier was broken into while parked at the Johnson Lumber Company on Tennant Avenue. The stereo and a watch were stolen. The report was taken at 2:24pm.
• Auto burglary: A Morgan Hill resident reported their Chevy van was broken into while it was parked at the Windmill Mobile Home Park on San Pedro Avenue. Prescription sunglasses were stolen from the van. The report was taken at 5:36pm.
