What
’s up with the construction on Burnett Avenue? The school
district told Red Phone in early September that construction would
be finished really soon. It’s now January and work is still going
on.
Auto burglary:

• A resident of the 15100 block of Yosemite Way reported the resident’s locked Honda Accord was broken into overnight. Clothing, CDs and the vehicle registration were stolen. The report was taken on Dec. 28 at 9:04am.

• A resident of the 100 block of La Crosse Drive reported the resident’s locked Toyota 4-Runner was broken into overnight. The rear window was shattered, and $300 in cash was stolen from the glove compartment. The report was taken at 9:32am on Dec. 28.

• A resident of the 15000 block of Shasta Lane reported the resident’s GEO Prizm was broken into overnight. The resident’s wallet, sunglasses and watch were stolen from the Prizm. The resident told police that someone left a key not belonging to the resident broken off in the ignition of the vehicle. The report was taken on Dec. 28 at 1:56pm.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported someone entered her unlocked truck while it was parked in the Safeway parking lot and stole the resident’s purse. The purse was later returned to her by a Safeway employee, but her money – $570 in cash – and credit cards were missing. The report was taken at 4:01pm on Dec. 28.

• A resident of Pratola Court reported the resident’s vehicle was broken into, but the resident wasn’t sure if the vehicle was locked or not. An amplifier, CDs and the stereo was stolen. The dash appeared to have been damaged with a crowbar. The report was taken on Dec. 28 at 5:25pm.

• A resident of Encino Drive reported the resident’s locked vehicle was broken into. A window was shattered, and the stereo and CD player were stolen. The report was taken at 6:02pm on Dec. 28.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her locked Jeep Cherokee was broken into while parked in the parking lot of the Candy Park shopping center. The resident’s purse and cell phone were stolen from the Jeep. The report was taken on Dec. 28 at 9:44pm.

• A resident of the 15300 block of La Mar Drive reported someone broke into the resident’s locked Buick Skylark overnight. A window was shattered, and the garage door opener was stolen. The report was taken at 6:37pm on Dec. 31.

Vandalism:

• A customer of Extraordinary on East First Street reported a window of the customer’s Volvo was shattered while the Volvo was parked at the parking lot of the business. The report was taken on Dec. 26 at 3:24pm.

n A Toyota 4-Runner parked in the Target parking lot was damaged; the door was dented, the lock was pulled out, but nothing was taken. The report was taken at 1:53pm on Dec. 28.

Stolen vehicle:

• Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church on DeWitt Avenue reported someone broke into the church overnight. A large rock was thrown through a sliding glass door. Things were moved around inside the church, but apparently nothing was stolen. The report was taken on Dec. 28 at 9:35am.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported his Honda Accord was stolen the day before from the parking lot of an apartment complex on La Alameda. The report was taken on Dec. 29 at 9:22am.

Petty theft:

• An employee of Morgan Hill Motors reported a piece of paper was stolen from her office. The paper had all of the employee’s personal information on it, including address, phone number, Social Security number and driver’s license number. The report was taken on Dec. 29 at 11:03am.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported his gym bag was stolen from a locked locker at the 24 Hour Fitness Club in Tennant Station. The resident told police the bag contained $195 in cash plus credit cards. The report was taken at 11:31am on Dec. 29.

• Eight plants were stolen from the front landscaping of a business on Monterey Road. The plants were valued at $200. The report was taken on Dec. 29 at 1:33pm.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported his cell phone was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the Tennant Station parking lot. The report was taken at 5:22pm on Dec. 29.
