n A Morgan Hill resident reported her daughter’s wallet was stolen from her purse while at the Safeway on East Dunne Avenue. The report was taken at 9:17pm on Feb. 27.
n Johnson’s Lumber Ace Hardware on Tennant Avenue reported the store has surveillance video of a theft that occurred on Feb. 21 and on Feb. 26. The suspect is an ex-employee. The report was taken on Feb. 28 at 2:19pm.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported his daughter’s cell phone was stolen from her backpack while at Sobrato High School. The report was taken at 6:30pm on Feb. 28.
n Nob Hill Foods in Vineyard Town Center reported two men attempted to steal liquor from the store but dropped it in the aisle. The manager asked them to leave, but they were hanging around in front of the store. The report was taken on March 5 at 7:47pm.
Fraud:
n A resident of the 19000 block of Malaguerra Avenue reported money is being withdrawn from his checking account, approximately $1,800 to date. The report was taken on Feb. 28 at 9:08am.
n A resident of Oak View Circle reported several counterfeit checks with her name, address and Bank of America account have been cashed. The report was taken at 4:56pm on March 2.
Identity theft:
n A resident of Via Loma reported someone used the resident’s identification to open a PG&E account in Gilroy. The resident has the address of the account. The report was taken on Feb. 25 at 2:51pm.
n A Morgan Hill resident reported someone “impersonated” the resident and had all the utilities turned on at an address in the 16800 block of Monterey Road and then did not pay the bills. The report was taken at 2:08pm on Feb. 28.
Brandishing:
n Ernie’s Bar and Grill on Monterey Road reported a male suspect came into the bar, pointed a gun at everyone and left. The suspect was reportedly wearing a black mask. The gun was not fired, and no one was injured. One of the customers at the bar gave a description to police, saying that the suspect had a teardrop tattoo below one eye. The bartender or manager said two kids came into the bar before the incident, and they were drunk and were kicked out because they tried to start a fight. The suspect could be one of those two. The report was taken on Feb. 23 at 10:22pm.
Burglary:
n Pink Elephant Bakery on Monterey Road reported the business was broken into overnight. The lock was “popped off” the front door. It was unclear at the time of the report what items were missing. The report was taken on Feb. 22 at 2:50am.
n Cornerstone Pest Control on Joleen Way reported someone broke into the business overnight and stole a computer and other items. There was no sign of forced entry; it is possible a key was used to enter the business. The report was taken at 6:55am on Feb. 22.
n Westcoast Beauty on Monterey Road reported someone attempted to pry off the locks to the business overnight but was not able to get inside the business. The report was taken on Feb. 22 at 8:16am.
n Haug Quality Equipment on Technology Drive reported someone broke into a secured storage container and stole two welding machines. The report was taken at 10:31am on Feb. 22.
n Party Safari in Tennant Station reported the business was broken into overnight. Money was stolen, and the business was ransacked. It appears a key was used to enter the business. The repo-rt was taken on Feb. 22 at 11:13am.
n A resident of the 17100 block of Pine Way reported a .9mm automatic weapon was stolen from the residence. There was no sign of forced entry, and the resident did not know of any suspects. The report was taken at 12:53pm on Feb. 22.
n Local Three Operators on Digital Drive reported the back door of the business was shattered overnight. It was unclear at the time of the report what items were stolen. The report was taken on Feb. 25 at 7:04am.
n Taco Bell on Monterey Road reported someone broke into the business overnight, possibly through the back door which had pry marks on it. A computer, a TV and a tool box were stolen. An attempt had been made to open the safe. The report was taken at 8:11am on Feb. 25.
n A resident of the 16200 block of Church Street reported she came home to find her sliding glass door open and a red shirt left on the porch. She was unsure if anything was missing, and dispatchers reported she was a little uncooperative. The resident later said there was jewelry missing from her jewelry box. The report was taken on March 3 at 6:13pm.
n Sprite Road Oil on Vineyard Boulevard reported someone broke into the business overnight. Someone apparently drove through a fence on the property. The report was taken at 7:44am on March 4.
