•A motorcyclist who did not have a license to drive a motorcycle
sudffered major injuries in a solo crash Saturday afternoon. Chris
A. Johnson, 43, of Gonzales, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle
southbound on Uvas Road just south of Croy Road in west Morgan Hill
at 2:10pm.
CHP accident:
•A motorcyclist who did not have a license to drive a motorcycle sudffered major injuries in a solo crash Saturday afternoon. Chris A. Johnson, 43, of Gonzales, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Uvas Road just south of Croy Road in west Morgan Hill at 2:10pm. According to CHP, he was traveling at an unknown high rate of speed and went off the roadway after failing to negotiate a curve. Johnson was thrown from the motorcycle as it went into a ditch on the side of the road. He was taken to Stanford Medical Center, where he was treated for a head injury and a broken left knee. Johnson was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the report.
Battery:
• A resident of Easy Street reported she was assaulted by her mother-in-law, and her husband ripped the phone from the wall as she was trying to call 911. The report was taken on Jan. 22 at 6:07pm.
• A resident of Church Street reported she called to request an officer to escort a suspect off her property; the suspect grabbed the phone from the resident as she was calling and also choked her. The suspect then ran, jumping a fence in the rear of the residence. The report was taken at 9:45am on Jan. 23.
Auto burglary:
• Two customers of Betsy’s Restaurant in Tennant Station reported their vehicles were broken into while parked at the restaurant. A Toyota pickup was broken into, the lock was broken, and a stereo, wallet and $10 in cash were stolen. A Honda Accord was also broken into. Gas was syphoned from the Accord, and groceries, magnets and cigarettes were stolen. The report was taken on Jan. 22 at 9:28pm.
Vandalism:
• A resident of Buckskin Court reported that at approximately midnight the night before, a rock was thrown at the windshield of the resident’s Dodge Ram. The report was taken on Jan. 23 at 7:50am.
Grand theft:
• Drop Zone Customs on Railroad Avenue reported a known suspect with a key to the business stole a tailgate valued at $800 from the business. The report was taken on Jan. 23 at 4:50pm.
Burglary:
• Britton Middle School on West Central Avenue reported someone broke into a classroom, but it is unclear at the time of the report what was stolen. The report was taken on Jan. 24 at 7:59am.
• A resident of the 16900 block of Sorrel Drive reported the locked garage of the residence was broken into, and jewelry and an amplifier were stolen. The report was taken at 10:54am on Jan. 24.
Petty theft:
• A Morgan Hill resident reported the resident’s child’s Haro bike was stolen from the park at Paradise Valley School on La Crosse Drive. The bike was reportedly chained to a bike rack and stolen between 7:35am and 1:30pm. The report was taken on Jan. 19 at 2:33pm.
