MORGAN HILL POLICE
Fraud: A counterfeit $100 bill that was passed at Thinker Toys was turned in to the bank. The report was taken on March 10 at 12:20 p.m.
• Bath and Body Works reported a male passed a fake traveler’s check in the store the day before, then showed up at the Gilroy store attempting to do the same thing. The report was taken at 11:19 a.m. on March 14.
Petty theft: Wireless World reported that on March 5, several juveniles ran into the store and stole a cell phone. The report was taken on March 10 at 12:51 p.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen on March 8 in the parking lot of the Safeway. The report was taken at 2:41 p.m. on March 10.
• Northside Market reported three males came into the store and one of them stole a box of cigars. The report was taken on March 10 at 4:57 p.m.
• A Morgan Hill resident told police her purse containing $120 was stolen. The purse was later found, but the money was missing. The report at 1:26 p.m. on March 12.
• Am/PM Mini Mart reported a male came in and stole two 18-packs of beer. The report was taken on March 12 at 11:10 p.m.
• A resident of the 16700 block of Willow Creek Drive reported he heard a noise outside around 3 a.m.; when he got up, the tools in the back of his truck had been stolen. The report was taken at 6:28 a.m. on March 13.
• Live Oak High reported a lamp module from an LCD projector was stolen sometime in February. The report was taken on March 16 at 7:29 a.m.
Auto burglary: A resident of Hidden Meadows reported someone broke into the resident’s Chevy pickup overnight, smashing a window and stealing tools, including saws, drills and an airgun.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported her cell phone was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at the Burger King. A window of the vehicle was left open. The report was taken on March 8 at 7:39 p.m.
• A resident of Sierra court reported a Direct TV receiver was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. The report was taken at 1:14 p.m. on March 10.
• A resident of the 17400 block of Walnut Grove Drive reported tools were stolen from the open bed of a truck, and a trailer was broken into. A Dodge Viper transmission was stolen. The report was taken on March 14 at 8:34 a.m.
• A resident of the 18200 block of Carriage Drive reported her purse was stolen from her locked vehicle. The report was taken at 7:27 p.m. on March 14.
Threats: Britton Middle School reported a typed letter was left on a teacher’s desk saying that someone was going to “shoot up the school.” The report was taken on March 12 at 1:06 p.m.
Burglary: A resident of the 200 block of Berkshire Drive reported he came home to find his house had been ransacked. Also missing is the resident’s Honda Accord. The keys to the Honda were in the house. The report was taken on March 10 at 6:41 p.m.
Child abuse: A Morgan Hill resident reported she stopped by her cousin’s apartment to pick something up and her cousin left the apartment, leaving her baby there. The resident did not volunteer to watch the baby, and the cousin told her, “Oh well, I have to leave,” and walked out. The resident told police there is ongoing neglect of the baby, a lot of drug activity at the residence and the mother “goes out partying all the time” and does not want anything to do with the baby. The report was taken on March 10 at 1:48 p.m.
• P. A. Walsh Elementary reported two of their students possibly victims. Possibly drinking and drug use in the home, the apartment is not kept clean and the kids miss a lot of school. The report was taken at 10:52 a.m. on March 11.
• A resident of Barnell Avenue reported her husband hit her 2-year-old son. He also “destroyed” the house, she told police, and pulled the phone from the wall so she couldn’t call 911. She thinks he is high on meth. The report was taken on March 13 at 9:16 p.m.
Vandalism: A resident of the 17400 block of Depot Street reported her Chevy pickup was damaged while she was on vacation. The report was taken on March 1 at 4:44 p.m.
• Carl’s Jr. restaurant reported a small window near the entrance was broken. The report was taken at 4:13 p.m. on March 4.
• A resident of the 17400 block of Calle Mazatan reported a rock was thrown through a window of the residence. The report was taken on March 7 at 3:22 a.m.
• Goodwill of Santa Clara County reported that a window of the business was shot with a BB gun. The report was taken on March 8 at 1:33 p.m.
• Britton Middle School reported a student vandalized a desk. The report was taken at 12:35 p.m. on March 10.
• Britton Middle School reported three juveniles writing gang graffiti on bathroom walls. The report was taken on March 10 at 1:32 p.m.
• A resident of the 1100 block of Llagas Road reported someone knocked over mailboxes in the neighborhood, hitting them with sandbags and damaging them. The report was taken at 7:36 a.m. on March 11.
• Britton Middle School reported graffiti on an outside wall of the school next to the office. The report was taken on March 15 at 6:28 a.m.
Identity theft: A resident of the 18300 block of Murphy Springs Road reported his Social Security number was used two years ago to open an account, and now the past due account is showing up on his credit report. The report was taken on March 9 at 1:17 p.m.
• A construction contractor told police that another contractor used his license number. The other contractor is being sued, but he is the one that received the summons. The report was taken at 12:09 p.m. on March 12.
Stolen vehicle: A resident of the Madrone Mobile Estates reported her GMC pickup was stolen overnight. The report was taken at 6:33 a.m. on March 6.
• A vehicle was stolen from Pine Way overnight. The owner was visiting her mother at her residence in the 1700 block of Pinion Way and parked the Dodge Neon on Pine. The report was taken on March 6 at 9:57 a.m.
• A resident of the 600 block of Spring Avenue reported a Honda Accord stolen overnight. The report was taken on march 12 at 7:29 a.m.
• A resident of San Pablo Court reported a Ford Taurus stolen overnight. The report was taken at 10:30 a.m. on March 12.
• A Morgan Hill resident reported she parked her Toyota Camry in the Safeway parking lot, and when she returned, the Camry had been stolen. The report was taken on March 12 at 2:21 p.m.
Tampering with a vehicle: A Morgan Hill resident reported the rear license plate was stolen from the resident’s vehicle while it was in the Vineyard Town Center parking lot. The report was taken on March 9 at 7:30 a.m.
