MORGAN HILL POLICE

Arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence: Joseph J. Gallegos, 18, of Morgan Hill was cited and released. He was also charged with giving false information to an officer. The report was taken on Dec. 13 at 9:04 p.m.

Battery: Several residents of Markross Court reported a male and female fighting while sitting in a vehicle parked on the street. According to several calls to police, the male hit the female in the face, then grabbed her hair and tried to pull her out of the vehicle. The report was taken on Nov. 27 at 3:05 p.m.

Auto burglary: A resident of Bayo Claros Circle reported her Volkswagen Cabriolet was broken into while she was out of town. The report was taken on Nov. 30 at 10:32 a.m.

• Alpha Automotive Repair reported that several vehicles at the business were broken into. The vehicles were locked and were parked behind a locked gate. The suspects damaged the fence in order to get to the vehicles and left some tools behind. The report was taken at 9:03 a.m. on Dec. 1.

• Live Oak High School reported that on Nov. 25 a leather jacket, valued at $300, and a leather backpack, valued at $200, were stolen from a vehicle. A wallet was in the backpack. The report was taken on Dec. 1 at 9:29 a.m.

• A resident of San Gabriel Court reported a stereo and CDs were stolen from an unlocked Ford Bronco. The report was taken at 7:35 a.m. on Dec. 2.

• A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked at Johnson Lumber Company. The report was taken on Dec. 2 at 4:34 p.m.

• Alpine Recreation reported an employee’s locked vehicle was broken into while parked at the business. The report was taken at 11:26 a.m. on Dec. 3.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her purse was stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center approximately two weeks earlier. The report was taken on Dec. 3 at 1:07 p.m.

• A resident of Second Street reported his Chevy Silverado was broken into on Nov. 30 and a laptop and CDs were stolen. The report was taken at 12:44 p.m. on Dec. 5.

• A purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in the parking lot at the Cochrane Plaza shopping center. The report was taken on Dec. 5 at 3:55 p.m.

• A resident of the 18400 block of Alcala reported someone stole his garage door from his unlocked vehicle and opened the garage door. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle or the garage, except for the opener, but the resident’s dog ran away when the garage door was opened. The report was taken at 11:21 a.m. on Dec. 7.

• A resident of Bayo Claros Circle reported someone took an emergency tool kit and a set of keys from the resident’s unlocked Mercury Villager. The report was taken on Dec. 7 at 11:25 a.m.

• A resident of the 1500 block of San Antonio Way reported a cell phone and a garage door opener were stolen from an unlocked Oldsmobile parked at the residence. The report was taken at 12:34 p.m. on Dec. 7.

• A resident of the Archstone Apartment Homes reported the rear passenger window of the resident’s Ford Ranger was shattered and a backpack was stolen from the vehicle. The report was taken on Dec. 8 at 11:13 a.m.

• Items were stolen from an Acura parked in the Cochrane Plaza shopping center. The windows were shattered. There were witnesses to the break-in. The report was taken at 12:14 a.m. on Dec. 12.

• Two residents of the Vineyard Court Apartments reported their vehicles were broken into overnight, and items were stolen from the vehicles. The report was taken on Dec. 12 at 7:21 a.m.

Burglary: Launderland in Tennant Station reported someone broke into the business and stole money from the change machine. The report was taken on Nov. 27 at 11:31 p.m.

• The owner of Your Eyes Image in Vineyard Town Center reported someone broke into his business, shattering the front window and taking an undetermined number of eye glasses. The report was taken at 10:06 a.m. on Nov. 28.

• A resident of the Terracina Apartments reported she returned home after work to discover her apartment was broken into. The TV was stolen, along with other items. The report was taken on Dec. 1 at 3:31 p.m.

• A resident of the 17400 block of Calle Mazatan reported an electric guitar, valued at $1,000 was stolen from the house. The report was taken at 8:03 p.m. on Dec. 1.

• The owner of the Teddy Bear Laundrymat on Monterey Road reported several of his machines were broken into and money was stolen. The report was taken on dec. 2 at 1:39 p.m.

• A member of the 24 Hour Fitness Club reported someone broke into his locker and took his wallet, cell phone, car keys, a jacket and some cologne. The report was taken at 12;41 a.m. on Dec. 4.

• A resident of the Murphy Ranch Apartment Homes reported someone kicked in her front door and stole a purse, CDs and two cell phones. The report was taken on Dec. 4 at 8:20 p.m.

• A parent of a Live Oak High student reported her son’s locker was broken into the day before, and a wallet, keys to the house and car, clothing, cash and a cell phone were stolen. The report was taken at 6:33 a.m. on Dec. 10.

• A construction trailer parked in the 16300 block of Juan Hernandez Drive was broken into overnight. A chop saw was stolen. The report was taken on Dec. 11 at 8:08 a.m.

Petty theft: A resident of the 18300 block of Capistrano Way reported mail was stolen from the residence the day before. Neighbors returned some they found to the resident, and some was located down a storm drain. The report was taken at 7:48 p.m. on Dec. 7.

• A resident of the 18300 block of Cerra Avenida reported mail was stolen from the residence two days earlier. The report was taken on Dec. 8 at 10:39 a.m.

• A resident of the 18300 block of Capistrano Way reported her mail was stolen two days earlier. The report was taken at 11:25 a.m. on Dec. 8.

• Safeway grocery store reported two suspects stealing items from the store. The report was taken on Dec. 8 at 9:23 p.m.

• Mezza Luna restaurant reported a customer stole a bottle of wine. There is a videotape of the incident. The report was taken at 10:09 p.m. on Dec. 8.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her bike was stolen from the bike rack at the Community Center. The report was taken on Dec. 9 at 10:40 a.m.

• Albertson’s grocery store reported someone stole a cart of groceries. The groceries were recovered. The report was taken at 7:21 p.m. on Dec. 21.

Fraud: A resident of East Middle Avenue reported someone is using the resident’s Social Security number to get credit. The report was taken at 4:11 p.m. on Dec. 10.

• A Morgan Hill resident reported her wallet was stolen in Watsonville and her ATM card is being used at several places in Morgan Hill. The report was taken on Dec. 12 at 11 a.m.

Threats: A resident of the Windmill Mobile Home Park reported she is receiving threatening phone calls which she believes are from suspects in an earlier crime. She told police she was taken by the suspects to a bank in Gilroy, where she withdrew $12,000 for the suspects. She also gave them her home phone number, she said. She said she had reported this to Gilroy Police, and now thinks the suspects are harassing her. The report was taken on Dec. 11 at 7:01 p.m.

Vandalism: A resident of the 15500 block of La Mar Drive reported someone vandalizing her mailbox. She suspects it is someone in the neighborhood. The report was taken on Nov. 27 at 1:49 p.m.

• A resident of the 15600 block of La Mar Drive reported someone broke the driver’s side window of his Toyota Cressida. The report was taken at 1:09 p.m. on Nov. 29.

• The back window of a Suzuki softtop was “sliced” while parked on Depot Street. The report was taken on Dec. 2 at 8:01 a.m.
