Police are looking for a blue SUV that was allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting in Morgan Hill April 15.

About 3:40pm, Morgan Hill Police were dispatched to the 17000 block of Crest Avenue on reports of multiple gunshots fired. Officers arrived and began investigating and contacting witnesses and victims.

Police determined the suspect vehicle was traveling northbound on Crest Avenue just before the shots were fired, police said. The vehicle, described as a blue SUV, drove past the 17000 block of Crest Avenue and made a U-turn to return to the area.

The blue SUV then slowed down as it approached a group of male subjects standing in front of the apartment complex, police said. Someone inside the vehicle fired multiple shots at the group.

The bullets missed the people standing outside and struck the apartment building and a nearby trash bin, police said. No injuries were reported.

The suspicious vehicle then fled the area southbound on Crest Avenue toward Main Avenue, according to police. Police described the vehicle as a “dark blue SUV occupied by multiple male subjects.”

Officers located several items of evidence at the shooting scene, and continue to investigate the incident. The motive was unknown as of April 20.

The Morgan Hill Police Department released a surveillance photo of the suspects’ vehicle fleeing the scene.
