Fraud
A resident on the 18600 block of Arguello Avenue reported a check was stolen from their mailbox, and the suspect attempted to alter and cash it. The crime was reported 9:16 a.m. March 3.
Petty theft
An 11-year-old boy stole candy from Morgan Hill Foods, 225 West Main Ave. An employee of the store witnessed the child and a group of juveniles steal candy items. The other juveniles ran away, but the employee was able to detain the 11-year-old in the back of the store until police arrived. The juvenile was cited for petty theft and released to his parents.
Disturbance
A guest at the Quality Inn, 16525 Condit Rd. reported that about 20 juveniles were drinking alcoholic beverages in several rooms at the hotel. The guest said the teenagers were also hanging out in the hallway and were being noisy. The juveniles may have been associated with a soccer tournament that occurred over the weekend at the nearby Outdoor Sports Complex. When the witness reported the disturbance to the hotel’s front desk, the employee said it was the coaches’ responsibility to tame the teens.
